Late arrival longer than:


entitles passengers to request a Bonus Voucher - valid for six months from issue date - to buy another ticket, without the right to refund of any difference. The part of your ticket bought with the bonus voucher is non-refundable.

When your carriage in a Eurostar Italia AV, Eurostar Italia, Eurostar City Italia, TBiz, Intercity or Intercity Plus train has the air conditioning system totally out of order and it is not possible to be given a place in another carriage of the same or higher class, you are entitled to a bonus voucher valid for buying, within six months of the issue date, other journey tickets, without entitlement to change in cash.
However, you must remember that staff on board the train must make a note of this failure on your ticket.

If both the air conditioning system is out of order and the train is late in arriving at its destination, only one Bonus Voucher is issued.

Bonus Vouchers are not issued:
- in the event of a delay due to unforeseeable circumstances (acts of God), planned maintenance work on the line about which customers were properly informed, strikes (up to 3 hours after the end of the strike announced), events caused by third parties that affect rail use (occupation of tracks by persons not employed by the railway company, fires, natural disasters such as floods, landslides, etc.) or by order of a public authority (judicial or the police); - to holders of Season Tickets/Travelcards or Access Cards to IC trains or tickets valid for accessing trains with an overall price that cannot be split. Travellers may apply for bonus vouchers within 60 days from journey date. Applications can be presented at the arrival station (at the ticket desks, the assistance and information offices) or sent by surface post/mail to the addresses below, indicating one's personal data (name, surname and address) and including the journey ticket and the place booking (for tickets without seat reservation at the same time) or tickets issued for the delayed train "without the guarantee of a seat", when provided for, or tickets issued on board.
For tickets bought with the ticketless procedure, as well as their ticket received on board, customers must include the print-out of the confirmation e-mail.

Late arrival equal to or longer than:


entitles passengers to International Bonus Vouchers valid for twelve months from issue date for buying another ticket, without the right to refund of any difference.

The Bonus value given is 20% of the international ticket price relating to the single section (ticket with the minimum amount of 50 euro (19.00 euro for the Cisalpino trains) including any booking and WL or couchette supplements). For return tickets, the amount of the Bonus Vouchers is calculated on half of the ticket price. The amount of the Bonus Voucher is rounded up to 0.10 euro.

Tickets bought with the International Bonus Vouchers are non-refundable.
To obtain International Bonus Vouchers, passengers must present tickets and bookings (seats, WL or couchette) - if booking is not included in the overall price - or be in possession of a statement confirming the delay (which are however issued by only some non-Italian railway companies).
Travellers can request Bonus Vouchers within 60 days from journey date at one of the railway companies that provided the transport service, or at the Railway company that issued the international ticket. Please note that the Bonus Vouchers are valid only for tickets within the country of the railway company that issued the tickets.
The Bonus Vouchers are sent to passengers' homes by the railway company that issued the ticket, within 90 days of the date of receiving the application.

Bonus Vouchers are not issued for the Pass offers, tickets for special trains, or for the "Car on Board" trains. For the Artesia trains, Bonus Vouchers are issued at special conditions.
