It is a virtual card, which allows holders to buy tickets with the advantageous "Socio" fares and to travel under the concessions normally reserved to holders of Cartaviaggio. It is virtual in that it is not actually sent but issued through an e-mail message. The card contains the personal code (User ID) required for buying the tickets as discounted rates.

How to request the Cartaviaggio IT Card.
Applying for one is easy. If you already hold the IT Card, fill in this form (italian only). Simply enter the Promotion Code, fill in all the fields and you've finished!
Soon a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the address given containing your Cartaviaggio IT Card, User ID and Password. Cut out the card and take it always with you when travelling in Italy: it's your pass for buying the discounted tickets!

Which discounts do the Socio (member) Tickets allow?
The Socio (member) Tickets allow discounts for customers under 26 (Juniors), over sixty (Seniors) and for family groups made up of 3 to 5 persons (Families). More information is available here (Italian only) .

Tickets discounted under the Socio fare can be purchased directly here. After choosing the journey and date, select the fare, choosing from among Family, Junior and Senior the one accessible according to the conditions of use (Italian only) .
