This scheme allows you to make a present of a rail ticket for journeys on trains for which fares can be paid on line, expressly excluding season tickets, by buying one on the trenitalia.com website.

Once the purchase procedure has been completed, the system will send the beneficiary an e-mail or sms message with the journey code to use to collect the ticket according to normal purchasing procedures.

When you buy your ticket on trenitalia.com you are also given the option of personalising your gift with a dedication (by e-mail, by sms or both), which will be sent, together with the journey code, to the person you wish to make your gift to.

You can request the gift ticket service in accordance with the Ticketless procedure or the ticket may be collected from a self-service machine in the station of departure.

There is no provision for the home delivery of gift tickets.

Tickets issued under this scheme are subject to the regulations applicable to the sales channel used and the railway service purchased, particularly as regards the conditions for changes, refunds, alternative bonuses and bonuses for delays or malfunctioning of the air-conditioning system.

Tickets issued under this scheme count towards the "Programma Cartaviaggio" points award programme.
