Booking change
At all ticket offices and approved agencies until five days before booked train's departure, you can request the replacement of the car- or motorbike-slip and/or of the journey tickets issued in relation to them with other ticket or with a different number plate of the vehicle to transport. This is done by paying any applicable price difference but without any surcharge.


Travelling with a different train to the one taking the car
In addition to travelling on the same train as that of the vehicle (by choosing among wagon lits, couchette carriage or seat), you can also travel on a different train. For example you could use an Intercity or Eurostar and find your vehicle ready at the arrival station.

When loading the vehicle, you must show the Trenitalia personnel both the car- or motorbike-slip and a valid rail journey ticket for the same section. Once the vehicle arrives at destination, it will be off-loaded by Trenitalia-assigned personnel at the station's waiting siding.
The customer arriving on a different train must go to the Customer Assistance Office, where the personnel will check the documents, collect any applicable payment for the on-train parking period, and return the vehicle.


Delegate someone to pick up the car or motorbike at destination
If you need to transport your car or motorbike by train and cannot go and personally pick it up, you can authorise another person to do so by filling in a special proxy, written when loading your vehicle*.

The person delegated for pick up must go to the Auto/Motorbike on board terminal of the arrival station together with:

Proxy from owner
Copy of the car-/motorbike-slip
A valid identity document
Copy of the disclaimer (motorbikes only)


Asking for ticket refund
If you no longer want to leave, you can ask for a refund of the ticket relating to the car/motorbike transport.

N.B. no refunds apply and no bonus vouchers are issued if the amount to refund, net of charges, is less than or equal to 8.00 euro .
